Earlier this month, our team had the opportunity to engage with the vibrant community of ALPFA at the 2024 national convention in Las Vegas. ALPFA (Association of Latino Professionals for America) is an organization focused on empowering and developing Latino men and women as leaders of character for the nation, in every sector of the global economy. The annual convention is known for its dynamic sessions, inspiring speakers, and endless opportunities to network with other professionals.
The theme for this year’s ALPFA Convention was Re{frame} Your Story which was described as a call to action in how we as individuals perceive and present our own power through the stories we tell along our journeys. Sessions throughout the week explored this through encouraging reflection of our own personal narratives to understand how these stories can be leveraged to influence our professional growth potential.
In addition to being an ALPFA sponsor, we also actively participate in their scholarship program designed to financially support college students from ALPFA as they pursue their degrees. The selection process for these scholarships is rigorous and fair; recipients are chosen based on the highest cumulative scores from the application review by ALPFA judges, ensuring alignment with specific award eligibility criteria. This year, we had the privilege of celebrating two exceptional scholars from our program at the convention, Anne Marie Tran and Josh Marino. It brought us immense pride to meet them in person and recognize their achievements.
We asked some of our Protiviti attendees what their favorite part of this year’s convention was and what the theme of Re{frame} Your Story means to them. Read below to hear more!
Patricia Maruna – Associate Director, Risk & Compliance
My favorite part of attending the ALPFA Convention was delivering the Protiviti Information session, along with our Managing Director, Jason Daily. It was rewarding to share about my career at Protiviti, what makes Protiviti a Best Place to Work, and to answer the questions of students and recent college graduates who shared similar life experiences. I also enjoyed meeting our two 2024 ALPFA Convention scholarship recipients.
During the convention, I was honored to be named as an ALPFA Corporate Advisor Board Member. This is an opportunity that reflects the theme of Re{frame} Your Story and to align my personal mission and goals to a higher purpose.

It is always great to be able to congregate with so many successful Hispanic professionals. The convention provides a great opportunity to network and meet with colleagues. It is a time to reflect and celebrate our accomplishments and reenergize to continue our efforts. Listening and learning about all the great accomplishments from professionals and speakers alike provides a great source of inspiration to continue to support ALPFA. For me, the theme of Re{frame} Your Story means to reflect on my career and how I can support those coming up after me. We are making progress, but we are still underrepresented, particularly at the top of corporate America. Working with ALPFA has enabled me to support my broader community as well as my alma matter. I look forward to continuing to support ALPFA through our partnership.
