Today marks the final day of our 2024 Protiviti intern onboarding experience! Over the last few days, our interns dove headfirst into “Liftoff with Protiviti” and “The Intern Challenge (TIC),” immersing themselves in dynamic client simulations, networking opportunities, and team-building activities designed to kickstart their adventure into consulting.
Let us show you how we provide our interns with an understanding of what it means to “Live Something Different” at Protiviti.
Over 335 interns started their Protiviti journey with “Liftoff with Protiviti: Part I” remotely on Friday, June 14th. They navigated our dynamic virtual orientation while exploring the tools, teams, and technology that will be instrumental to their success over their 8-week internship.

By Sunday, the interns had converged from across the country to sunny (and yes, still hot!) San Antonio, Texas. The adventure continued into Monday with “Liftoff with Protiviti: Part II,” which unveiled our vision, mission, and values through the wisdom shared by Cory Gunderson, Executive Vice President of Global Solutions and Sandip Shah, Managing Director in Technology Consulting.

Empowering our interns for what lies ahead this summer was pivotal; they were introduced to Talent Management’s mission to provide them with intentional experiences and dynamic engagements. Our celebration of inclusion shone brightly during a presentation from Susan Haseley, Chief ESG & DEI Officer at both Robert Half & Protiviti; Katie Rokus, Learning Portfolio Leader; and Kizzy Gift, Managing Director in Business Performance Improvement. Tyler Chase, Managing Director – Global Energy & Utilities Leader and a previous campus hire, Vijan Patel Managing Director – Technology Consulting Energy & Utilities leader also engaged with the audience during the day.
Team spirit soared high during the iOnHunger Amazing Chase for Charity event on Monday evening. Through collaboration and impressive puzzle-solving skills, the interns contributed to donating an impressive 2,000+ meals to the San Antonio Food Bank.

On Tuesday morning, our interns were introduced to our client simulation, GreenChic, by Michael Brauneis, Executive Vice President, Global Industry & Client Programs, and Kim Dickerson, Executive Vice President of Global Operations and Technology. Over the next few days, teams of interns examined GreenChic’s challenges and emerged with actionable insights and improvement strategies. Later that day, interns also learned about the importance of managing risk from Tom McClune, Executive Vice President & Global Risk Officer.

On Wednesday, our president and CEO Joe Tarantino shared his vision for Protiviti’s future; his inspiring words surely left a lasting imprint on interns eager to make waves in their careers. We also celebrated Juneteenth with Ranelle Dunnam, Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Rich Miller, Director in Technology Consulting and our Black Employee Inclusion Network Group (BEING) Executive Sponsor. After the last session of the day wrapped up, interns donned their finest Western-chic attire and cowboy hats for one final celebration with new friends and colleagues.

Interns spent Thursday morning presenting the issues and providing solutions for their client, GreenChic. This exciting first chapter of their internship journey closed with Scott Redfearn, Executive Vice President of Global Human Resources, who imparted his thoughts on confidence and fueled our interns’ drive as they navigate the future.
We are incredibly excited to watch our interns succeed this summer. And while The Intern Challenge has been a wonderful experience, the adventure has only just begun! Stay tuned for more updates from our 2024 Protiviti intern class!
