Protiviti’s Commitment to our Communities is something we value and promote in all that we do – even our summer internship! As mentioned in our recent check-in with the interns, Protiviti employees around the world are continually making strides in bettering their communities through a wide variety of philanthropic projects. That’s why we dedicated a whole week of our 2022 internship to giving back to the communities where we live and work.
Many of the volunteer events during the 2022 Intern Week of Service fell in line with Protiviti’s i on Hunger initiative, our global service food program committed to providing meals for those in need. This comes on the heels of having reached 12 million + meals served through this initiative and supports Protiviti in continuing to push towards the next milestone!
Commitment and Values In Action!
Over the course of last week, all 27 offices in the U.S. with Protiviti interns partook in a service event of their local choice. Here are just a few of the ways our interns made an impact!
Our Los Angeles interns packed 100 snack bags for the Los Angeles Downtown Women’s Shelter! “Snack Packs” are bagged lunches that consist of a sandwich, a beverage, a piece of fruit, and a snack item and are distributed each afternoon before women leave the Day Center to ensure that they’ll all have an evening meal when the shelter is closed for the night.
In St. Louis, the interns volunteered at Home Sweet Home, a non-profit organization focused on furnishing the homes with needed and quality items for underserved families. Our team helped organize, sort, and build furniture to be donated to local organizations helping individuals transition to new living situations.

Chicago hosted a backpack stuffing event for Cradles to Crayons! This organization provides children with essentials they need, free of charge.
Our Houston team volunteered at a meal packing event at Kids’ Meals – an organization that serves over 40 zip codes in the Houston area! Our interns made sandwiches and packed lunches complete with fruit and trail mix. Volunteers fed 180 kids EACH for a grand total of 3,960 meals.
The Cleveland team packed donations for Ronald McDonald House, which supports families around the world to access the medical care and resources they need.
Interns in Kansas City volunteered with Harvesters, a foodbank supporting citizens of Kansas and Missouri, to help sort and repack donations as they prepared to be distributed to food pantries and shelters throughout the area. They also hosted a food drive in the office to donate to Harvesters!
Orlando interns worked with the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida where they served 140 meals to the homeless.
In Austin, our interns helped Meals on Wheels as they delivered meals throughout the city.
With nearly 1 in 6 families in NYC facing food insecurities, our interns in New York worked with Rescuing Leftover Cuisine to rescue fresh, quality food that would otherwise be wasted from businesses with overflow to go to families in need.
The Phoenix interns volunteered with Feed My Starving Children. In one afternoon, the team packed 101 boxes which contained a total of 21,816 meals. Those meals will feed 59 kids for an entire year!
The Greater Pittsburgh Community Foodbank welcomed us as our team helped sort and box food.
Interns and teammates in Columbus got their hands dirty at the Columbus Conservatory.
In Atlanta, our people participated in a meal packing event with Rise Against Hunger. They hit over 11,000 meals with still more to be counted!
And our Seattle team worked with Food Lifeline to pack 3,000 meals.
