As we cozy up and slow down this time of the year, we’re spending time at Protiviti connecting and reflecting on what really matters.

At Protiviti, giving back to our communities is baked into the framework of our culture. Integrity, being one of our core values, means we commit to doing the right thing in all situations. Naturally, this extends to how we advise and behave with our clients and colleagues, but did you know it’s also in our mission to extend this stewardship and commitment to the communities in which we live and work globally?

Protiviti’s vision and culture are centered around giving back to our communities and emphasizing participation in service opportunities alongside our colleagues and clients, globally and locally. We are proud to support our offices and the charities in which they work with!

Today, we’d like to highlight just a few of our many offices and teams who are giving back this holiday season.

The Boston Office is working with Caring for Children to provide kids with essential items and gifts for the holidays. Caring for Children helps provide necessities, like clothes and toiletries, and fun goodies, like toys and games, to children in need. Each child being sponsored is either challenged with a life-threatening illness or is the sibling of a child who is.

The Boston Office’s mission is to make their holidays a bit brighter by meeting these needs as best they can. They also hosted a wrapping party – check out our Boston friends making an impact!

“Boston iCares annual Caring for Children Wrapping party brought together over 40 members of the office, including interns and incoming new hires, to sort and wrap gifts for the 9 children we adopted this year,” shares Protiviti event organizer, Anya. “Not only did the large turn out and charitable giving of the office allow us to donate to more families, but it brought together folks that don’t normally have an opportunity to work together to share in building the Protiviti culture.”

Our Houston team has a long tradition of adopting families during the holiday season. iCare is partnering with Kid’s Meals’ Holiday Hope Program to adopt four in-need families in the Houston area, providing them with gifts this holiday season. Our Houston teammates could sign up to shop for the gifts, wrap the gifts, and deliver the gifts to the families.

Protiviti’s Philadelphia Office is also helping those in need by participating in a few different ways to give back. First, they contributed to a Thanksgiving grocery store gift card drive to benefit the Carson Valley Children’s Aid, an organization providing an array of services with a focus on children and youth. Together, they raised $1,500 to donate in the form of grocery store gift cards to families in need for the holiday.

Continuing with the holiday spirit, the office hosted another gift card drive with Carson Valley Children’s Aid for their Adopt a Family holiday program, raising $4,600 for their “adopted” families for the holidays.

Ft. Lauderdale

Our Ft. Lauderdale teammates participated in Prison Fellowship Angel Tree through the Salvation Army, a platform designed to strengthen relationships between incarcerated parents and their children and support the families of prisoners year-round.

They also participated in a Teddy Bear Clinic Sponsorship for Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. With 70% of their patients insured through Medicaid, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital relies on community support to continue working towards a healthy future for every child.

Los Angeles

Our LA Office tried something new this year, hosting Protiviti’s First Annual Holiday Auction. This fun, interactive event was a live auction of goods, services, etc. with all proceeds going to charities of teammates’ choosing. What a fun and creative way to give back and team build with coworkers!

Each Christmas Season, the Protiviti Atlanta Office participates in the tradition of partnering with the US Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Initiative. The goal of Marine Toys for Tots is, “through the gift of a new toy, help bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to America’s less fortunate children. Atlanta Employees have donated 400+ toys and 20 bikes through an Amazon registry and through our office’s donation boxes, beating 2019’s donation record.  To foster friendly competition and to encourage donations, employees were sorted into 4 teams, each with an MD sponsor. One group was renamed to honor our friend and leader in the office, Domonique Williams, who was very supportive of the cause.

On December 18, Protiviti Team members will help sort thousands of toys at a distribution center, and will be able to count this time towards the RHI Dollars for Doers match program. We are so proud of the enthusiasm and effort our Atlanta Employees have put forth to support this initiative, to honor the life of beloved coworker Domonique, and to spread the hope of Christmas to Atlanta’s children.

New York City

Teammates in New York participated in an Adopt-A-Family drive. For the seventh year in a row, they partnered with Astor Services for Children & Families, where they worked together to fulfill holiday wishes for children in need. With a $5,000 goal and collections till ongoing, we’re confident these funds will make an impact for good.

Our Phoenix office participated in a Save the Family gift drive that assisted families, who without a little help, may otherwise go without during the holiday season. They worked together to fulfill wish lists of 13 people from two families this year. Check out the gifts they collected to make this a holiday to remember!

“As an office, we have been supporting the initiative for several years and it’s one of our favorite events,” says consultant Nathaniel, who help organize the event.

Salt Lake City

Our SLC teams did a Christmas donation box, collecting goods for those in need.

Metro D.C.

Protiviti people in the Metro DC area got crafty this holiday season, making 55 cards for children in hospitals and foster homes, veterans in the hospital, and seniors in assisted living. These cards are sure to spread cheer to all who receive them. What a fun and thoughtful way to spread some love this holiday season!

They also collected donations for Toys for Tots.

Our Chicago team has been busy this season taking on many ways to give back to their communities! First, they hosted a gift bag drive where they packed gift bags to distribute to Chicago’s homeless population in partnership with Inspiration Corporation. Inspiration Corporation is an organization focused on meeting people where they are in life and helping them achieve their goals by providing social services, job training, housing, and food.

But the giving didn’t stop there. The Chicago Protiviti Veterans ENG and the Parents Network partnered together to help Toys for Tots. They set a fundraising goal of $5,000 to make a massive impact for children in need. The donations were also eligible for Protiviti’s Matching Gifts Program, helping to spread the love even more.

And Protiviti’s Latin/Hispanic Employee Network Group conducted a holiday book drive for Chicago HOPES for Kids. From atlases and encyclopedias to comics and novels, giving opportunities to read and learn to underprivileged students will make a world of difference. Wow! That’s a lot of goodness.

“Literacy is the foundation to every child’s future. If a child can read, they can do anything.”

– Patricia Rivera, Founder of Chicago HOPES for Kids

Protiviti’s Latin/Hispanic Employee Network Group (LHENG) hosted a Thanksgiving food drive for our members across all offices. The 2022 Operation Thanksgiving Food Drive benefitted Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina.

This initiative was particularly significant during the Thanksgiving holiday season, as SHMetrolina serves 24 counties in North and South Carolina, in which 512,000 people live in poverty – including over 168,000 children and over 50,000 seniors. Thanks to the efforts of the Charlotte Protiviti office, we raised a total of $595 (not including Protiviti’s Matching Gift). As a result, we can now add 4,165 pounds of food to help our community and neighbors!

This year the Charlotte Office also participated in the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Drive for the 5th straight year. New toys are collected from Protiviti employees through online donations, in-person drop off in the office, and a toy drive happy hour. This year over 300 toys were collected and given to the local Toys for Tots Charlotte Chapter where they were sorted to be given to families and children in need locally in time for the Holiday season.

The Pittsburgh Office and the Veterans ENG are supporting Toys for Tots for a seventh consecutive year.  The initiative has grown significantly since 2016, and today over 100 toys were collected that will directly support families in Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas.  Pictured here, members of the Pittsburgh Office are gathered for an ugly sweater themed town hall to celebrate the year and ring in the holidays!

Thank you to all of our incredible teammates for giving back this holiday season, making Protiviti and the world a better place. Happy holidays!
