Robert Half, including Protiviti, has received a perfect score of 100 percent on the 2017 Corporate Equality Index (CEI). This is a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. Robert Half, joins the ranks of 517 major U.S. businesses which also earned top marks this year.
As Co-Executive Champions of the Protiviti LGBTA employee group, New York Managing Director Philip Maziarz and Chicago Director Joann Satariano made the following statement about this award: “We know that a diversity of ideas and experiences are essential to our promise of “A Global, Collaborative, and Diverse Workforce” and our continuing efforts to deliver an exceptional experience to our people, our clients, and our communities. Protiviti is stronger because of our inclusive work environment where employees see one another’s uniqueness as assets and strengths”. They continued on to say, “We work hard every day to be an inclusive organization and the HRC Corporate Equality Index helps us know we are achieving our goals in addressing the needs of the LGBT communities”.
So what does it take to get a perfect score? Since their inception in 2013, our LGBTA employee networking group has grown to 149 members across 22 cities. They work to increase awareness, foster better understanding amid Protiviti employees on issues the LGBT community faces in the workplace, and provide equal employment and advancement opportunity to all, regardless of sexual orientation. The team also attended The Human Rights Campaign’s (HRC) annual Out and Equal Summit, organized multiple philanthropic events that promotes LGBT health, education, and community, and participated in the LGBT Network Gala to help support the safe schools initiative. Additionally, benefits for same-sex couples include health insurance, life insurance and coverage for the medically necessary health care services transgender people may need.
We are overwhelmingly proud of our perfect score; however, we are not done yet. The ProLGBTA leadership team will be launching a mentoring program that aligns with our existing firm-wide advisor program to help provide Protiviti’s LGBT employees with advice on leadership and professional career decisions.
