The month of March includes both International Women’s Day on March 8th, and Women’s History Month throughout the month, both of which celebrate our world’s progress and historic movements. International Women’s Day (IWD) has been celebrating the achievements of women since 1911. This year’s IWD programming theme is #AccelerateAction, which calls for increased momentum towards gender equality.

Throughout the month, Protiviti’s Employee Network Groups (ENGs) iGROWW (Growth and Retention of Women in the Workforce) and GET IT (Gender Equality in Technology and IT) will celebrate IWD through events that create connection, inspire inclusion, and challenge us all to take action in our own careers and development.  

We took a moment to connect with our East Region iGROWW Lead, Ariel Arce, and how she got involved in iGROWW to continue to drive change and continue efforts to grow gender equality. 

“Since joining Protiviti and iGROWW in 2018, the journey has been both personally fulfilling and professionally enriching. Starting as a local champion in Miami, I’ve been privileged to be part of a movement that empowers women within our organization. As I transitioned into the role of East region lead, I’ve seen firsthand how one person’s passion can spark a ripple effect, inspiring others to join the cause and further our mission. The transformative impact of our initiatives is a testament to the power of collective effort. As we continue to move forward, my goal is to leverage this momentum, driving innovative strategies that foster inclusivity and empowerment.

I believe that we each hold the potential to be a catalyst for change. Together we can create a future where every voice is heard, valued, and has the chance to lead. Here’s to more growth, more equity, and more milestones in our ongoing quest for gender equality!” 

Select Women’s History Month Events & Initiatives

Protiviti will host a virtual discussion where we will hear from dynamic Robert Half and Protiviti executives sharing their strategies for action and impact, fostering the theme of #AccelerateAction. Our colleagues will discuss how leaning into opportunities can create an environment where everyone can thrive together! Recognizing and appreciating the opportunities that come our way and acting on them can help us grow and transform our lives.  

Sweat for Women’s Empowerment 

iGROWW and GET IT believe in creating pathways for professional success in their local communities. Offices across the globe will participate in physical activity campaigns to raise awareness and funds for organizations. Each hour of exercise logged will give funds back to the organization of each office’s choosing or the global partner for two weeks during March. 

The Power of Mentorship & Advocacy

We value mentorship and advocating for yourself and others. Over the course of March and in the months beyond, iGROWW and GET IT will partner to create opportunities to grow connections, as both a mentor and mentee. Additionally, they will kick off the first wave of the annual mentoring program to allow employees the opportunity to be matched with a mentor or reverse mentor to help with professional development.  

Local iGROWW & GET IT Chapter Events

iGROWW and GET IT have ignited a call to action, encouraging local office chapters to embrace the power of in-person events to observe Women’s History Month. This focus allows members to expand networks, fostering community and celebration tailored to their unique geographical culture. This will create meaningful moments that resonate with the spirit of unity and the support our people globally. Local offices will also host in-person watch parties for the International Women’s Day Signature Panel event.
