Here at Protiviti, we are in the midst of reviewing applications for our 2025 Discover Protiviti program! This unique program provides attendees with an immersion into our company’s culture, values, and the innovative work we do. Throughout the day, attendees network with Protiviti professionals across various levels and solutions, participate in panels, step into the shoes of a consultant through our consulting project simulation, and engage in activities that highlight our service and inclusion initiatives. For a full overview of the program, please check out this blog post

Now, let’s hear from those who’ve lived the Discover Protiviti experience. We are excited to feature the perspectives of past Discover Protiviti participants who joined us as interns and are now well into their journey as full-time consultants at Protiviti. Read on to find out how Discover Protiviti shaped their views on a career in consulting and the lasting impression the program made on what makes Protiviti a place to grow, learn, and belong.

Reflecting on your Discover Protiviti experience, what was it that you learned or experienced during the program that helped you decide to pursue an internship with Protiviti?

“Discover Protiviti was my first true experience meeting the people of Protiviti, whom I consider this company’s strongest asset. They were incredibly welcoming and supportive, and through this experience, I could tell that they genuinely wanted me to succeed.”  – Clayton Steinbrink (Atlanta, GA – Business Performance Improvement)

“Reflecting on my Discover Protiviti experience, there were several things that helped me decide to pursue an internship with Protiviti.  The first reason was because they provided multiple contacts and resources to help us stay connected with the company and learn more about it outside of the Discover experience. We were also assigned a specific consultant who provided support and guidance before, during, and after the event. Prior to the event, I asked her about her experience at Protiviti; she was invaluable in ensuring I understood my solution and who I could connect with if I still had questions regarding my specific practice. At the event, a panel of consultants from different solutions informed us about each solution that Protiviti offers. The experience allowed us to connect with consultants and learn about their personal experiences. I also learned about the culture at Protiviti and how employees stay connected and involved with each other.”  – Shreya Joy (Houston, TX – Technology Consulting)

When going through the recruitment process with other companies, was there anything about Discover Protiviti that stood out compared to similar programs you attended?

“From the outset, Discover Protiviti demonstrated an unparalleled commitment to nurturing my professional journey, while also cultivating a supportive and engaging community. This balance between professional growth and a welcoming environment set Protiviti apart from other companies.”  – Ali Kaiser (Denver, COTechnology Consulting)

As an intern, how did the Discover Protiviti program positively impact your experience (i.e. making friends before the internship began, developing your network early, pursuing certain classes or trainings to prepare for the internship)?

“The program gave me a sneak peek of what to expect during my internship, which helped me feel more prepared. Plus, I was able to meet people and make friends before the internship even started. Having those connections right away made it so much easier to transition into the role and feel comfortable.”  Ray Zaldivar (Houston, TX – Technology Consulting)

Now that you are a consultant, what advice would you give to someone attending the Discover Protiviti program in order to get the most out of the experience?

“My advice would be to soak up the experience as much as you can. It can be a bit overwhelming starting a new internship or job, but being in the moment and absorbing all that you can really enhances the experience. Also, don’t be afraid to ask questions! Everyone is so willing to help you, but they can only do that if you ask!” Lexi Touchette (St. Louis, MO – Business Performance Improvement)

“Looking back on my own experience, I’d let go of the idea that you need to prepare or know everything before you get started. You were recruited because of your personality more likely than your hard, tangible skills. They will teach you everything you need to know, so just come willing to learn.”  – Travis Pak (Orlando, FL – Internal Audit and Financial Advisory
