4.5 years ago, Protiviti set forth on a mission as an organization that became known as i on Hunger. The intention was to help reduce global hunger by providing dependable food sources, improving the nutritional value of meals delivered, eliminating food waste, providing education on the root causes of hunger, and by partnering with non-profit organizations to fight hunger.
Over the years, the efforts to reduce global hunger has been recognized by our campus recruiting partners, clients, friends and family — all who have joined to help Protiviti’s efforts with the i on Hunger campaign. We are grateful for these alliances and today we are proud to share that those efforts have supported Protiviti in reaching the exciting milestone of having packed or served 8 million meals for the hungry.

Recently, we were honored to partner with CEO Joe Tarantino’s alma mater, St. John’s University. Additional campus recruiting partnerships include The University of Texas at Austin and The University of Georgia, both of whom we partnered with this past Friday. These events, which totaled over 300 attendees including students, faculty and Protiviti employees, helped to pack over 60,000 meals, ultimately propelling Protiviti to the 8 million meal milestone.

For many, the impact goes far beyond the meals packed. “Partnering with Protiviti on the i on Hunger event provides our St. John’s University students, faculty and administrators an opportunity to carry out our Vincentian mission, which is to instill in the University community a deep concern for the dignity of every person, especially the poor,” says Donna Haynes, Senior Director of Employer Relations at St. John’s University. “How lucky are we to have a partner like Joe Tarantino and Protiviti who organize these partnerships on behalf of those in need!”

Yet, when all is said and done, we feel like the lucky ones as a result of this initiative. On behalf of Protiviti, we’d like to thank our allies in the fight against hunger, which includes the organizations we have worked with to pack the meals such as Rise Against Hunger , our partnerships with academic institutions such as those listed above and others who have made an impact like The University of Notre Dame, our clients, families and friends who have participated alongside us, and most importantly our employees who have stood behind the i on Hunger initiative since 2014. While there is always more work to do, we are proud of your commitment and the our achievements together on this journey!
“The i on Hunger program continuously exceeds our expectations. Surpassing the 8 million meal mark is a testament to Protiviti’s commitment to the sustainability of the communities where we live and work. We are extremely thankful to our employees, clients, and our i on Hunger partners for their dedication and collaboration in this effort.”
