Congratulations to Sharon Delgado and Brian Kostek on being named to Consulting magazine’s “Rising Stars of the Profession” for 2019! This honor recognizes outstanding employees for their leadership, career accomplishments and philanthropic work.
Sharon, a Director in our Ft. Lauderdale office and graduate of University of Florida with her Master’s in Accounting noted that consulting has been her passion for as long as she can remember. “I always knew I wanted a career that provided me with a strong work-life balance and it was equally as important for me to be challenged and have diversity. When it came to a career in consulting, I loved the idea of not just finding the errors for my clients, much like external audit, but more-so helping them to prevent it from ever happening again. Consulting has provided that for me.” Sharon joined Protiviti full-time after she accepted an offer from our summer internship program.
Brian, a Director in our Tampa office, graduated with his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of North Dakota and completed his MBA at Thunderbird School of Global Management, which is now part of Arizona State University. When it comes to consulting? “Every day is different,” says Brian. “It’s challenging, but that’s what makes it exciting. The best feeling at the end of the day is knowing that you made an impact and helped a client to reach and exceed goals within their own organization.”
Sharon and Brian were selected from hundreds of U.S. consultants for this well-deserved honor and we’re extremely proud of both of them as an organization.
Sharon said, “It’s an incredible acknowledgement of the hard work and dedication that I’ve put towards my career over the past 10 years. It solidifies my resolve to constantly push myself to exceed my clients’ expectations, provide them with top-quality deliverables, and make them the hero. It’s impossible to be successful alone, so I also attribute this honor to the amazing project teams and peers I work with every day. I love the motto ‘one team, one dream’, and this proves to me that the key to success is building on the strengths of our co-workers and identifying strong mentors that have blazed the path”. Sharon will be celebrating alongside her colleagues at the annual Protiviti Managing Director conference, which will be followed shortly after by the Rising Star’s award ceremony in Chicago.
In another city in the great state of Florida, Brian is celebrating this exciting news. “Being recognized as a rising star, in a lot of ways, validates that I made the right career choice more than 8 years ago,” says Brian. “Having started my career as a regulator prior to joining Protiviti, I identified my frustrations early on in not having the ability to fix the issues I was identifying in that role. When I made the transition to consulting, I had a lot to learn and this award provides the validation that I made the right choice. I’m looking forward to the future!” Brian plans to celebrate at Disney World with his two year old channeling the same celebration as a Super Bowl MVP.
