Twice annually, we have the wonderful opportunity to celebrate and recognize employees that have been promoted into a new role. And did you know that studies show the best way to get to know an organization is to learn about their employees? Well, I’m here to make that easy for you with #ProtivitiPromos – our month-long series that enables you to get to know our promotes from around the world.
Today, we get to chat with my good friend, Jenny! Jenny joined our New York City office after graduating from Boston College and she is always doing something interesting. If you want to know about Comic Con, hiking Zion National Park, or going to Coachella, you’ll want to call Jenny and if you want to know about being an amazing campus recruiter, you’ll also want to call Jenny.
Let’s see what she had to say about her career.

When it comes to building a career, what piece of advice would you offer? “Have conversations and meet as many people as you can. Networking used to be such a foreign concept to me, until I realized it’s simply about getting to know people, finding ways to connect, and building relationships.
Through the connections I have made, I have been able to get involved in various projects and initiatives at Protiviti outside of my day-to-day work that I’m passionate about, such as our Women’s Network (iGROWW) and the Multicultural Employee Network Groups. It’s a two-way street: The more people you get to know, the more people you can impact.”
Tell us about a memorable career moment or memory that stands out for you. “Receiving this news! This is my first promotion ever, and I am very excited to share this moment with my family. When my parents immigrated to the U.S. when I was born, they sacrificed so much to provide a better life for my siblings and me. This milestone is a testament to their work and it’s such an exciting first step for my future. I feel so lucky to have started my career with Protiviti, and I am thankful for the amount of support I received from my family, friends, and coworkers.”

What do you like to do when you’re not working? “You are most likely to find me somewhere dancing, reading, or watching Japanese anime! I am always on the lookout for new dance spots and book and anime suggestions. This year, I have made it my goal to catch up on “One Piece,” which is an anime series that is currently at 867 episodes and counting. Wish me luck!”

At Protiviti, we love a little inspiration. What are some words of wisdom that have been impactful to you throughout your career? “When I was younger, my dad would ask at the end of every day, ‘How did you save the world today?’ This has stuck with me throughout my life, both personally and professionally, and it is what drives my work ethic. Whether that means offering to help a teammate with a project or completing an assignment as best I can, I try to think about how I can make a small impact and the ways I can make a difference!”
Congratulations, Jenny! We’re grateful to have you as part of the Protiviti family.
