Here at Protiviti, we talk a lot about career equity. What are the most important components of employment that give meaning to an individual’s career? Over time, I plan to address all of the elements of career equity in this blog – starting today with community involvement.
In considering your employment with any organization, community involvement is a critical factor. Are opportunities provided for you to give back to the community? How does the organization encourage its employees to get involved? On the eve of Thanksgiving, I asked this question and came up with the following examples of ways that Protiviti employees are impacting their communities around the country.
Chicago – Supporting Bethel New Life’s Adopt-A-Family program
Cleveland – Also participating in an area Adopt-A-Family program to donate food, clothing, and toys to families in need
New York, San Francisco, and Seattle – Donating to Toys for Tots
Los Angeles – Volunteering tomorrow at the Union Station Homeless Services for their annual Thanksgiving Dinner-in-the-Park event
St. Louis – Supporting The Crisis Nursery’s Holiday Hearts program by collecting donations for families in need
Pittsburgh, Tampa, and Ft. Lauderdale – Participating in the Salvation Army Angel Tree
Atlanta – Donating food to the Atlanta Community Food Bank
Orlando – Donating to Family Promise to help homeless and low-income families achieve sustainable independence
Dallas – Served lunch last Friday to the homeless in downtown Dallas through The Stewpot
Houston – Volunteered this month at a Habitat for Humanity event in the city
