Celebrations for Hispanic Heritage Month (HHM), which recognizes the rich history, culture, and achievements of Hispanic and Latin communities, begin on September 15 and continue through October 15. At Protiviti, we are proud to celebrate the diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences that strengthen our organization and help foster a culture where everyone can thrive.

This year’s Hispanic Heritage Month theme, “Culture in Motion: Where Identity Fuels Innovation,” highlights the ways our unique experiences and cultural identities inspire new ideas, strengthen relationships, and drive meaningful progress. Throughout the month, Protiviti’s Latin Hispanic Employee Network Group (LHENG) will host events and conversations that celebrate our community while encouraging learning, connection, and professional growth.

Leadership Spotlight

This month, we are excited to spotlight Antonella Primmer, Internal Audit & Financial Advisory Tech Audit Manager based in our Miami office. Since joining Protiviti, Antonella has been an active member and advocate of LHENG, contributing to initiatives that support inclusion, professional development, and community building across the firm. Read on as Antonella reflects on the experiences, values, and connections that have shaped her career journey and continue to inspire her impact at Protiviti.

How has your involvement with LHENG influenced your professional development and sense of belonging at Protiviti?

When I joined Protiviti straight out of college in 2020, everything was virtual. Building connections required a much more intentional effort than I had anticipated as a new hire entering a new environment. Looking back, that challenge became one of the most rewarding parts of my journey.

Through LHENG, I began attending Cafecito sessions, national calls, and virtual networking events, which connected me with colleagues across the country. Those relationships grew into a support system that helped me feel connected to the firm and confident in my career. My involvement also inspired me to help establish our South Florida LHENG chapter, expand my involvement with ALPFA as a Champion, and eventually serve as an Alliance Lead within Protiviti’s Inclusion Team.

Beyond the professional opportunities, LHENG gave me a true sense of belonging. Some of the most meaningful moments have been meeting colleagues in person that I first connected with virtually and continuing to strengthen those relationships over time. Professionally, LHENG helped me push through imposter syndrome, find my voice, and build a community that encouraged me to grow as a leader. It transformed Protiviti from simply being my workplace into a community where I feel supported, connected, and empowered to contribute.

Our theme for this year’s HHM is “Culture in Motion: Where Identity Fuels Innovation.” How has your cultural identity shaped your work, ideas, or relationships throughout your career?

My cultural identity is rooted in community, empathy, and support. Growing up, I learned that success is rarely achieved alone. It comes from the relationships we build, the people who support us, and our willingness to support others in return.

That value has shaped how I approach my career. When I found a sense of community at Protiviti, it inspired me to help create that same experience for others, whether through LHENG, mentoring, project teams, or simply taking the time to listen and learn from those around me. Not everyone shares the same background or experiences, which is why being intentional about understanding different perspectives is so important.

In a hybrid work environment, connection does not happen by accident. Trust is built through relationships, and those relationships are built through empathy, curiosity, and genuine engagement. I may not always have all the answers, but I can often connect people with someone who does. That mindset has helped me build stronger teams, strengthen relationships, and create opportunities for collaboration and growth.

To me, “Culture in Motion” means recognizing that our identities influence how we lead, support, and innovate. When we invest in the success of others and build meaningful connections, we create a community where everyone can grow. I have found that the more we help others succeed, the more we all succeed together.

What advice would you share with others about embracing their identity and using it as a strength to drive growth, connection, and impact in their careers?

My advice would be to trust who you are, be honest with yourself, and embrace both your strengths and your opportunities for growth. None of us are perfect, and we all have areas where we can improve. Sometimes, the hardest part is recognizing our own strengths, but everyone has something valuable to contribute, whether its technical expertise, relationship building, problem solving, or the ability to bring people together.
We work in an environment that constantly challenges us to learn, adapt, and stay agile. Instead of focusing on what you don’t know, focus on what you do know, who you know, and what questions you can ask. Growth comes from curiosity, communication, and a willingness to keep learning.

That’s one of the things I love most about consulting. We are continually stepping into new situations, building new skills, and finding ways to create value. Every project, every connection, and every challenge is an opportunity to grow.
Be proud of your achievements, celebrate the relationships you build, and recognize how far you’ve come. Your identity and experiences give you a unique perspective that no one else can bring. Lean into that. The confidence to be yourself, combined with the willingness to learn from others, is what creates meaningful growth, strong connections, and lasting impact. And once you’ve reached that next milestone, be ready to do it all over again.
