Thanksgiving is a time to pause, reflect, and appreciate the moments and people that make a difference in our lives. Amid the fast pace of work and everyday responsibilities, this holiday reminds us to slow down and celebrate the connections that bring meaning to both our personal and professional journeys. In that spirit, we asked a few of our colleagues to share what they’re most thankful for this year and their favorite Thanksgiving traditions.

What’s one thing that you’re most grateful for this year, and how has it impacted your work or life?

Alan Rodriguez – Risk & Compliance Consultant: This year, I am especially grateful for the new people who have entered my life—both personally and professionally—and for their willingness to guide, challenge, and collaborate with me. Each relationship has encouraged me to stay open to new ideas, approaches, and perspectives, which has strengthened my communication skills, refined my technical abilities, and helped me build resilience in moments of uncertainty. I’m thankful for the individuals who continually invest in my growth and who remind me that learning often happens through the connections we build and the support we share.

Erin Lopez- Americas Delivery Center Senior Recruiter: I’m most grateful for my support system. Whether it’s my colleagues at work or my friends and family, their encouragement and presence have been such an important part of my success this year—and I know they’ll continue to be in the years ahead. They’ve cheered me on during the wins, helped me through challenges, and reminded me to keep things in perspective when life gets hectic. Having people I can count on—whether for advice, collaboration, or just a good laugh—makes all the difference. It’s a great reminder that none of us achieve anything alone, and I’m thankful every day for the connections that keep me grounded and motivated.

Betsy Jones – Talent Inclusion & Learning Senior Manager: I am thankful for my colleagues at Protiviti. I’ve been at Protiviti almost 15 years and have had many seasons life. In many cases my colleagues have become my friends, and are not only supportive of me at work, but also as a friend and a mother. It means a lot to know my colleagues care about me, and I also care about them!

Do you have a favorite Thanksgiving tradition or memory you’d love to share?

Alan Rodriguez – Risk & Compliance Consultant: One of my favorite Thanksgiving traditions is gathering around great food with the people I care about. It’s a simple ritual, but one that always brings comfort and connection. Every year, I look forward to sharing a meal that brings everyone together—family, friends, and the people who support me. For me, Thanksgiving is a reminder to slow down, enjoy the moment, and make sure those around me feel valued and celebrated. No matter what life brings, that shared meal always feels like a grounding reminder of community, gratitude, and togetherness.

Erin Lopez- Americas Delivery Center Senior Recruiter: I’m a sucker for a Thanksgiving Day race! There’s something about starting the holiday with a burst of energy that makes the whole day feel even better. I love getting up early, joining the crowd, and feeling that crisp fall air before the big feast. After the race, it’s all about piling my plate high and enjoying every bite—followed by the ultimate Thanksgiving nap! I’ll admit, I’m not much of a cook, so I happily leave the kitchen duties to everyone else while I provide moral support, keep them company, and sneak in a few taste samplings as they cook. The best part, though, is spending the rest of the day surrounded by family and friends. For me, it’s the perfect balance of activity, indulgence, and connection.

Betsy Jones – Talent Inclusion & Learning Senior Manager: Growing up I helped my mom make the mashed potatoes. Not only did they have three sticks of butter in them, but also a container of sour cream (her secret ingredient!) Not healthy for you, but so delicious.

This Thanksgiving, let’s take a moment to appreciate the people and opportunities that enrich our lives and careers. Gratitude is a powerful force—it strengthens relationships, inspires growth, and reminds us of what truly matters. From all of us at Protiviti, we wish you a holiday filled with connection, joy, and gratitude.

Happy Thanksgiving!
