At Protiviti, career development transcends traditional learning and advancement opportunities. Our Global Mobility Program empowers employees to broaden their professional horizons, gain international experience, and develop a global mindset. This program aligns business needs with individual aspirations, offering a transformative journey across cultures and markets.
Protiviti’s Global Mobility Program facilitates the movement of talent across international borders, ensuring that both the company’s global objectives and employees’ personal goals are met. The program provides a streamlined framework for global assignments, enabling employees to work in different countries, immerse themselves in new cultures, and develop a broader understanding of global business operations.
We’ve connected with two of our employees currently participating in the Global Mobility Program. They have shared insights about themselves, their motivations for joining the program, what they have learned, and advice for anyone interested in participating in the future.

Tell us about yourself and your role at Protiviti. What motivated you to participate in the Global Mobility program?
I relocated to the London office in 2021 as a Senior Consultant within the IAFA IT practice and returned to the U.S. as a Manager. Living and working abroad had always been a personal goal of mine, though I wasn’t sure it would ever become a reality. When the opportunity came up, I didn’t hesitate—I applied right away and started building relationships with the UK team. On a personal note, I was also in a long-distance relationship at the time. The move gave me the chance to live with my girlfriend (now wife) and plan our wedding together, which made the experience even more meaningful.
What have you learned so far from the program? Did you come across any surprising insights during your experience?
One of the first challenges I encountered was adapting to the local language and business acronyms. Even though we share a common language, many UK terms have different meanings, and spelling differences were an adjustment too.
What stood out most, though, was how welcoming and inclusive the London office was. I never felt like an outsider. There was even a small American community in the office, and we kept up traditions like celebrating Thanksgiving together. The UK’s multicultural environment was incredibly inspiring—it was a privilege to work with such a globally diverse group of professionals.
What skills or experience from the program do you think you will be able to take back to your current role?
Auditing fundamentals are universal, but the regulatory landscape can vary greatly by region. Working abroad exposed me to international compliance standards, especially GDPR, which broadened my understanding of global risk. That experience has made me a more versatile and globally minded auditor. Since many of our clients operate internationally, this perspective helps me offer more tailored and insightful guidance.
How would you highlight the benefits of participating in the program to prospective candidates considering Protiviti as a future employer?
Protiviti’s Global Mobility program is an amazing way to step out of your comfort zone and grow both personally and professionally. Opportunities to work abroad are rare without employer sponsorship, and Protiviti makes it accessible. You not only gain valuable international experience, but you also build lifelong relationships, experience new cultures, and come back with a broader worldview that benefits both you and the clients you serve.

Tell us about yourself and your role at Protiviti. What motivated you to participate in the Global Mobility program?
It’s hard to believe this is my 10th year at Protiviti! I am an Associate Director in the BPI Finance practice, and I have spent my entire career at Protiviti. I still remember when I was a Senior in college at the University of Arizona and my friend invited me to Protiviti’s information night in the business school. I remember them showcasing the Global Mobility Program that night and I remember thinking, if I end up working at this company I will definitely do that program because I have always loved travel and new experiences… and that’s exactly what I did!
What have you learned so far from the program? Did you come across any surprising insights during your experience?
I learned a lot from the program and it helped me develop on both a personal and professional level. Moving to a whole new country on my own, I learned to get comfortable with being uncomfortable. It pushed me to make new friends and build a whole new business network. Although I was working for the same company, it was a challenge to learn the new market I was in and how to operate in a new office culture.
What skills or experience from the program do you think you will be able to take back to your current role?
I have returned back to my home office almost 2 years ago now. Although I was nervous about my ability to re-integrate and see how I would compare with my colleagues, the transition was very smooth. My experience abroad taught me to quickly adapt to new situations and how to build a business network from the ground up.
How would you highlight the benefits of participating in the program to prospective candidates considering Protiviti as a future employer?
In my opinion, the Global Mobility Program is one of the best things about Protiviti and it is what ultimately drove me to choose Protiviti as my employer. It allows you to live and work in a whole new environment with extra support to help you through the visa process.
