Last week, Protiviti had the opportunity to participate in the 2024 Disability:IN conference. Disability:IN is the leading nonprofit resource for business disability inclusion worldwide. Their vision is to create an inclusive global economy where people with disabilities participate fully and meaningfully. Their annual conference serves as an enriching platform for us to connect with like-minded professionals advocating disability inclusion in business.
Our very own Stephanie Hardy-Marsden, Eric Portlock, and Shelley Benjamin represented our organization as leaders of our Disability Employee Network (DEN). Stephanie reflected on her experience saying, “Disability:IN demonstrated the importance of storytelling and building genuine connections to power our efforts to create a better space for members of the Disability community. There were many great sessions that I attended, but being able to speak with so many people, from entry-level to upper management, about the ways they listen to and strengthen their community was incredibly impactful for me as a disabled person myself.”

Stephanie’s participation in various discussions also allowed her to share our ongoing efforts at Protiviti towards promoting diversity and inclusivity. She added that this yearās conference theme of ‘Are You In?’ inspires her every day “to be a better colleague, advocate, and ally within the disability space while encouraging others to do the same.”
Eric Portlock echoed Stephanie’s sentiments stating, “The energy of the conference was contagious and gave me a renewed commitment to further advance our own programs to make Protiviti a place to welcome employees with disabilities.ā He found it enlightening to see how other companies are implementing initiatives and programs along with overcoming challenges they face on their journey towards disability inclusion and was inspired to realize āhow far we have come and how far we can still go to provide an environment that fosters talent and career paths for employees with all types of disabilities.”
In line with these enriching personal experiences from our team members at Disability:IN Conference, we are excited to announce that Protiviti has earned a place on the 2024 āBest Places to Work for Disability Inclusionā list. We achieved a score of 100 on the Disability Equality IndexĀ®, showcasing our commitment towards fostering an inclusive workplace environment for all.
Shelley Benjamin reflected on this achievement saying, “Receiving Protiviti’s award as a ‘Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion’ was more than an honor, it was a validation of our collective commitment towards cultivating an environment where everyone feels they belong. The recognition is a true testament to our culture and our people who work to ensure Protiviti is a place where everyone feels they can be their authentic selves, and where everyone has the support and tools they need to succeed in their careers.ā
We consider this recognition not as a destination reached, but rather as encouragement on our continued journey towards making Protiviti an inclusive place for all.
