For the past year, our Charlotte office has participated with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina in their Mobile Food Pantry. This partnership is part of the office’s iCare initiative to bring service efforts closer to home and to the local community; as well as Protiviti’s global initiative, i on Hunger, to help stop world hunger. The Mobile Food Pantry is a shopping experience for families in need that takes place at local Charlotte middle schools. Consultant Ashley Rivenbark has helped coordinate Protiviti’s volunteer efforts, which include helping to set up, putting items on tables, restocking food, helping families carry items to their cars/houses, assisting with cleanup, and greeting families as they come to receive their food.
While the amount of families helped and number of meals served differs from month to month, Ashley shared with us that in February alone the Mobile Food Pantry was able to serve 110 families through 4,074 meals. Ashley said “We have been so fortunate to have a wide range of Protiviti employees and their families volunteer”.
