As we wrap up another exciting spring season, we’re proud to reflect on the continued success of Discover Protiviti, our immersive, in-person program designed for students who are exploring a career in consulting. This year, we eagerly welcomed candidates from across the country to experience a newly enhanced version of the program. We built upon the preexisting program’s strong foundation while introducing several new experiences that gave students an even deeper look into our people, our work, and our office environment.
Program Overview
Discover Protiviti serves as our early identification program for students within two years of graduation. Candidates first complete a multi-step interview process, including recruiter conversations followed by case and behavioral interviews with members of Protiviti’s consulting practice. From there, candidates may be invited to join us at Discover Protiviti for this unique and interactive opportunity.
The goal of Discover Protiviti is to provide candidates with a meaningful, hands-on introduction to the consulting profession while helping them better understand what a future with Protiviti could look like. Throughout the day, participants engaged directly with our teams, explored real-world consulting scenarios, and built connections with professionals across levels.
What Was New This Year
We gather feedback from prior attendees each year through post-program surveys and use those insights to continuously evolve Discover Protiviti. This year’s additions, including the internship overview, capability shadow sessions, and 1:1 leadership discussions, were directly shaped by prior participants’ desire for more transparency into the intern experience, deeper exposure to day-to-day consulting work, and more personalized interactions with our leaders.
Internship Overview: Mapping the Journey
For the first time, candidates participated in an interactive Internship Overview session that walked through every stage of the internship journey: before, during, and after the program.
Using a design-thinking approach, students collaborated in small groups to ask questions and explore topics such as onboarding, day-to-day project work, mentorship, and the transition to full-time opportunities. This session provided greater clarity on expectations while reinforcing our commitment to supporting interns at every stage of their experience.

Capability Shadow: A Day in the Life
To bring consulting work to life, we introduced the Capability Shadow session, giving candidates a firsthand look at what our consultants do each day.
Through small group conversations, Protiviti professionals walked students through real project examples, tools and technology, and even snapshots of their daily schedules. This “day in the life” perspective helped candidates better understand how our teams operate and the impact of our work across engagements.

1:1 Leadership Discussions: Building Meaningful Connections
One of the most impactful additions this year was the introduction of 1:1 leadership discussions during lunch.
Each candidate had the opportunity to meet individually with Protiviti leaders, creating space for more personal, meaningful conversations. These sessions allowed students to ask questions, gain career advice, and learn directly from experienced professionals all while building authentic connections within the firm.

Core Program Highlights
In addition to these new features, Discover Protiviti continued to deliver immersive experiences that make the program so impactful:
- Leadership Welcome: Local leaders kicked off the day by sharing their career journeys, insights into the consulting industry, and perspectives on success at Protiviti.
- Consulting Project Simulation: Candidates participated in an AI-enabled consulting simulation, where they worked collaboratively to analyze a client problem and develop solutions, mirroring the work our teams do every day.
- Values in Action: Through interactive discussions, participants explored how our core values — inclusion, innovation, integrity, and commitment to success— show up in real-world scenarios.
- Networking Opportunities: The day concluded with a dedicated networking session, giving candidates additional time to connect with professionals and continue building relationships.
Program Impact
Overall, feedback from this year’s Discover Protiviti program was highly positive, with participants consistently highlighting the welcoming team experience, engaging format, and meaningful interactions with our people. Candidates shared that the experience gave them a clearer understanding of both the consulting profession and what a career at Protiviti could look like, while also increasing their interest in the firm. The combination of hands-on learning, real-world insights, and authentic connections made a strong impression across offices, reinforcing the impact of the program and the value it provides to early-career talent.
