This year, to honor Martin Luther King Day, a Day of Service initiative was led by members from our Multicultural Employee Network Group (MENG), Black Employee Inclusion Network Group (BEING) and iCare, which is Protiviti’s strategic initiative focused on giving back to our communities. Together, Protiviti offices across the U.S. are volunteering in their local communities throughout the month to give back through organizations that support food security, schools and education, and the environment. We wanted to embody the values of Martin Luther King Jr. through the lens of his quote, “Everybody can be great because everybody can serve.“
As part of the Day of Service in our Houston Office, employees packed 630 meals for Kids Meals to support their mission of ending childhood hunger among preschool-aged children in the City of Houston.
In our St. Louis office, employees volunteered with a St. Louis Area Foodbank for a food packing event. The foodbank, along with the dedicated partnership of over 600 hunger-relief programs and local agencies – including soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters, and residential programs – are responding to hunger in communities across 26 counties in Missouri and Illinois by distributing food to hundreds of thousands of people each year.
Champaigne Powell, pictured right, shared her experience and said, “It is always so meaningful to see so many different people come together to volunteer in our office. To me, it shows how much we all care as a firm and our dedication to making time for what matters most which is our communities we live and work in.“
Through these efforts across our offices, we came together collectively as a firm to impact our communities positively and support our core values as a firm.
