Happy Veterans Day! With more than 18 million veterans in the U.S., odds are, there is a veteran in your life. Veterans Day is a U.S. holiday and an opportunity to acknowledge, appreciate and thank the brave members who have served in the United States Armed Forces. This Veterans Day (and every day) we want to extend a special ‘thank you’ to the many veterans, especially those who are now members of our Protiviti family!
It’s extremely important to us at Protiviti that all our employees feel welcomed and enabled to grow their career. Our Veterans Employee Network Group (ENG), which was launched in 2013, has helped to ensure that those who served are enjoying a fulfilling career at Protiviti. The group also builds a sense of camaraderie. Associate Director, Jason, a U.S. Army Veteran, established the group, which helps to more broadly support Protiviti’s Diversity and Inclusion initiative. “The Veterans ENG has helped to bring about changes in company policy that make Protiviti a better place to work for veterans,” says Jason. “We continue to refine those efforts, drive more change where needed, and develop additional training and resources for our veterans.” One of the highlights of the ENG is the veteran mentor program, which supports the transition of military members to a corporate lifestyle.
As Veterans Day approaches, we want to take a moment to say a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to those who have served or are serving in the United States Armed Forces, and we’d also like to take the opportunity to introduce you to three veterans who work here at Protiviti. They’ve each created a video message to share how their experience in the military helps them every day in their work as consultants.
Learning to Innovate on the Fly
Currently a Manager in the Atlanta Office, Meredith began her career with the U.S. Army on a NATO mission in Syria. She rounded out her four years of service with the rank of Captain. During her time in the military, Meredith was able to hone in on her skills and use those to create innovative solutions. Serving in the U.S. Army Signal Corps provided gave her much of the knowledge and tools that she currently applies to her work in IT and Project Management.

Strategic Thinking
Joseph, a Senior Consultant in the Charlotte Office, credits his time in the military with helping him learn how to think strategically and adapt to changing conditions.
During his service as a Captain in the U.S. Marines, where he served as a Communications Officer, Joseph found himself in places as distant as Norway and South Korea, managing IT projects for more than ten exercises and two deployments.

Working as a Senior Consultant for the Technology, Strategy, and Operations team out of the Atlanta Office, James finds that he did valuable groundwork in process and methodology in the military, which blends well with the fast-paced environment here at Protiviti.
James was a Captain in the U.S. Army where he served for six years, first in Conventional Forces and then in Special Operations with the 75th Ranger Regiment. He believes teamwork, accountability, and empowerment are key elements to successful consulting.
