Twice a year, we are proud to celebrate and recognize employees that have been promoted in to a new role. As such, we are excited to kick off “Promotion Week” by introducing you to some of our newly promoted colleagues. Throughout the remainder of this month, we will continue to spotlight a few of these individuals in celebration through this #protivitipromos series. First up, we are headed to the Big Apple. Years at Protiviti: “2 years”
Path to Protiviti: “I attended St. John’s University where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance with a minor in International Studies in 2016. While attending SJU, I worked full-time at Capital One Bank for two years where I soon discovered my passion for the financial services industry. While visiting Protiviti’s booth at a career fair, a friend of a friend who interned at Protiviti forwarded my resume and the rest is history.”
Current Solution and/or Industry focus: Risk & Compliance
What is one piece of advice you’d offer to those starting their career? “Don’t be scared to ask questions, everyone wants to see you succeed!”
What is something that has been impactful to you throughout your career? “One of my favorite things about Protiviti is its advisor program. The program not only acquaints employees within their local office but also helps them set their career goals. Additionally, whether through formal or informal advisor(s), it’s empowering to have senior management have direct line of sight in support of your career.
Name a memorable career experience. “One of my most memorable experiences at Protiviti includes the planning for the 2018 International Women’s Day – which was the driving cause behind joining iGROWW (Growth and Retention of Women in the Workplace). To be a part of the planning for this initiative was both an amazing and rewarding experience for me. I was able to network with Protiviti employees from several international offices, as well as those in the U.S. and it was truly unforgettable.
If you could sum Protiviti up in one word, what would it be? “Innovative”
Name your superhero work skill. “Time Management. When I decided to start my M.B.A degree in 2017 while working, I knew I had no choice but to successfully manage my time. Considering that I am the type of person who snoozes their alarm clock at least five times in the morning, this was a rather difficult skill for me to develop! However, I learned, very quickly, that it is critical for me to plan out my weeks in advance. Oh, and I always leave a little extra time for the fire drills.”
