Employee referral programs can be one the most successful and effective methods for building a culture with top talent. At Protiviti, we recognize this and encourage our employees to discuss career opportunities within their networks. We’ve had many success stories and want to share some of the ways that our referrals thrive when they join our team.
Mehreen and Farrah, both Internal Audit and Financial Advisory Senior Consultants in Chicago, who met at University of Illinois at Chicago through their mutual best friend.
Here is their story.
After college, Mehreen started her career as an external auditor and spent a little over two years in public accounting before making a career change to work in industry. After some time working industry, she knew she wanted to get back in to consulting and found Protiviti. “Protiviti was a perfect blend of industry and public accounting – challenging and ever-changing, but also valued work-life balance,” she mentioned. During this same time, Farrah had also began her career in external audit and was even at the same company as Mehreen! After over four years, she came to join Protiviti in November of this past year. When asked, ‘Why Protiviti?’. Farrah mentioned that “work-life balance and the challenge of working on different types of projects was attractive to me.”
Fun Facts About The Duo:
Mehreen: “I love to travel and am constantly on the lookout for travel deals. As unreal as it may sound, I flew to Los Angeles in 2016 for $40 roundtrip (totally irrelevant but a sure accomplishment in my books). I haven’t done a trip since early 2017 but hope to get back into it fairly soon! It’ll be challenging with an infant now, but I’m hoping she loves it as much as her mommy.”
Farrah: “I am really trying to become a better cook and lately have been obsessed with turning my favorite foods into their healthier versions. My latest craze has been cauliflower fried rice — so easy and so delish!”
