The Kansas City team volunteered their time during the Intern day of Service with Harvesters. Harvesters is a regional food bank serving a 26-county area of northwestern Missouri and northeastern Kansas. Harvesters provides food and related household products to more than 620 not-for-profit agencies including emergency food pantries, community kitchens, homeless shelters, children’s homes and others. They also offer education programs to increase community awareness of hunger and teach about good nutrition.
Today’s event included both Kansas City team members and interns as well as several Protiviti clients! The group helped sort and pack fruit and vegetables for 3 hours at the Harvester’s facility. The food that was packed will be distributed to various food pantries throughout the region.
