Having post-graduation blues this June? Jack, who will be joining us as a Consultant in the Metro DC office, doesn’t know a thing about that! After graduating from American University this past December, he embarked on a travel adventure that could make just about anyone jealous.

I had the opportunity to catch up with Jack via email since he has been overseas. Jack told me “one of the reasons I was so excited to join Protiviti was that the company encouraged me to travel between graduating and my start date. This allowed me to plan a four month trip around the world. 3 continents, 14 countries, and 23 cities later I am having an amazing time discovering cultures, trying new foods, and discovered unique coffee shops! This was a once in a lifetime trip and I am so thankful Protiviti allowed me to take this chance!”

Favorite city: Prague! It’s a beautiful city filled with the biggest castle in Europe. It was also some of the best street food I have had so far.

Favorite country: Germany. I did not expect this but I have been surprised by how different each region is in terms of food, beer, and landscape. The people are super friendly and love to show you around their city.

Share a memory: In Istanbul, I stayed in an Airbnb apartment in the old part of town. One night, I was eating dinner in front of the window and I looked into the apartment across the street and saw a lot of activity and people. The next day, I ask my landlord about it and apparently I was staying in the shoe manufacturing district where they make all the “copied” products for the Grand Bazaar! The locals even gave me a quick tour and showed me all the different shoes they can imitate.

We are so happy for Jack and the adventures he is having! Enjoy your last few weeks of travel and we look forward to seeing you later this summer as you join our team full time!
