Today we are celebrating Equal Pay Day. This is a day set aside to raise awareness around the pay gap that many women and minorities still face in Corporate America. With recent reports from the US Women’s soccer team on their pay discrepancies vs. the Men’s US soccer team, we are reminded that in 2016 this is still an issue. People all over the United States are wearing red today to symbolize how far “in the red” many women and minorities still are in regards to their pay.
Here at Protiviti, we pride ourselves on being an equal opportunity employer. Our leadership purposefully provides transparency into how our pay and benefits are determined. Our compensation, benefits, bonuses and any other incentives are awarded based on performance, engagement and the contributions that an individual makes to our clients and people. They are awarded on the basis of merit and are not based on gender and/or race. We work hard to keep equality in our workforce top of mind. In this effort, Executive Vice President of Human Resources Scott Redfearn sets the tone. Last month, he made a #PledgeforParity to “create an inclusive, flexible culture… that supports all employees in work and in life”.
We appreciate having a leadership team this is so focused on creating an inclusive and honorable work environment.
