As you have probably heard, today is Giving Tuesday. Following in the wake of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday is a way to refocus on the commitment that we make to the communities in which we live and work.
Here at Protiviti, we are passionate about community involvement, both as an organization and as a collection of individuals. At the organizational level, we recently announced our commitment to serve one million meals in 2015. For just one example of the support that we show each and every employee in their individual efforts to give back, look no further than Jillian, our Dallas campus recruiter.

“This year, I am very thankful to work for Protiviti.
I love this time of year because it focuses on family, friends, food, and football (Sic’em Bears!). I also enjoy this time of year because it makes you take a step back from the busy-ness of daily life and reflect on what you are truly grateful for.
This past spring, my mom underwent preventative breast cancer surgery. After seeing my mom prepare, complete, and recover from her surgery, I felt compelled to give back to those who battle or lose their lives to breast cancer.
My sister and I decided to participate in Dallas’s Susan G. Komen 3-Day event. This event consisted of walking a total of 60 miles over the course of three days. Not only did my sister and I need to train for the walk, we also had to raise at least $2,300.00 each in order to participate. I chose to share this experience with my coworkers by sending them an email that described the event and my fundraising goal. In the three months leading up to the walk, my coworkers helped to raise $1,215.00! This was over half of what I needed to raise in total.

Protiviti’s Dallas team not only helped me complete (and eventually exceed) my fundraising goal; they also supported me throughout the actual event. My manager, Jill, and her daughter, Lucy, met us on the trail and walked with us. A few of my Protiviti friends met us at a water station and gave my sister and I words of encouragement as we embarked on the last two miles of our journey. In short, I was overwhelmed with gratitude for the ways that my coworkers supported me throughout this adventure.
Working for a company that “walks the walk and talks the talk” is something that I value. It is refreshing to know that I work for a company that wants the best for its employees and their loved ones. I am truly thankful to work for a loyal and encouraging organization, and to be a part of a community of people who can provide support during some of life’s toughest moments.”
