Earlier this month, Protiviti attended the Texas Conference for Women hosted by the First Lady of Texas, Anita Perry. For more than a decade, the Texas Conference for Women has served as the premier networking and professional opportunity for women of the Lone Star State. This was the conference’s third year in Houston, a city with a reputation for economic opportunity, and the theme this year echoed that sentiment of opportunity: “Your Time is Now.”
As a recognized sponsor, Protiviti’s Houston and Dallas offices joined forces to send ten members of our management team. Inspirational speakers, including nationally-syndicated American television personality, Judge Glenda Hatchett, shared very personal accounts of how all of us should “write our own story” in an effort to chase our passions. Jennifer Arnold, M.D. spoke on her personal motto of “Thinking Big,” which helped her to achieve her personal goals throughout her life, attending medical school and becoming an accredited pediatrician when others doubted her ability. Another favorite speaker was Leigh Anne Touhy, whose best-selling book “The Blind Side” is based upon her family’s personal mission to care about the world. Touhy challenged the women in attendance to share ways that they can to help make the world a better place. The incredible and inspirational speakers left the audience feeling extremely motivated.
An Yu, Senior Manager, summed up the day by saying, “It is great that Protiviti was able to afford us the opportunity to participate in this event. The messages are empowering and remind us all of how our contributions can truly make a difference.”
